Pool Opening – May 19!
After what seems like a winter where the rain would never stop and a spring that was cooler than many of us wanted, we are pleased to announce that the pool will officially open for the summer on May 19! The pool will be heated to the County's recommended temperature of 80 degrees for the summer. The swimming pool rules are attached here and are also available for review online. We thank all residents in advance for adhering to the pool rules and reminding others to do so as well to ensure another safe swim season. Pool Rules
All pool users must have a key with them to enter the pool area. Please do not open the gate for anyone who does not have a key. Each owner is responsible for ensuring the safety of their family and guests.
There are a couple of items that the Board wants to remind all owners of to ensure that everyone is able to enjoy the pool.
1. Glass containers are not allowed at the pool. Do not bring beer, champagne or other glass bottles to the pool.
2. All children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18.
3. Please be mindful of how long you have the water running when taking a shower! The showers are meant for rinsing off only.
4. Do not use any devices to prop the gates open. This is a serious safety risk as a child may wander into the pool area alone. Additionally, the County Health Department requires that the gates remain closed at all times.
5. Please do not open the gate for anyone who does not have a key.
6. Please remember to remove all trash and food scraps when you leave the pool area to help prevent ants. If you bring any large pizza or cake boxes, please take the resulting trash home with you for disposal rather than clogging up the trash cans. Small waste items such as water bottles, paper scraps, etc. can be dumped in the trash cans on site.
Knock it Out of the Park with your Spring Lawn Care
Knock it Out of the Park with your Spring Lawn Care

- How is your lawn like baseball?!? If you want glory in the summer and fall, you need to put in the work in the spring! Spring is the ideal time to get your lawn started on an All-Star season by patching any bare spots, overseeding, treating for grubs and fertilizing.
- Now is the time to patch any bare spots in your lawn and overseed – the warmer temperatures during the day will help the seeds germinate and sprout and it gives you a couple weeks off of mowing! First, prepare the soil for the seed by scraping out any dead grass and softening the ground. Then add the seed using a spreader (or your hand). Finally, give it nutrients and protect it from birds with a layer of nutrient rich soil. Water the newly seeded areas daily for two weeks.
- Over the winter months, your lawn was mostly dormant – it wasn’t doing much growing, but now that it is waking up in the spring, it is hungry and ready for some nutrients! Give it what it wants with fertilizer! Want a double play? Use a fertilizer with a weed killer too to keep dandelions, crabgrass and other weeds from taking over!
- If your lawn was torn up last year, it might be animals (raccoons, turkeys) looking for grubs. Late spring is the time that hibernating grubs in the lawn begin to crawl toward the surface to chew grass roots before flying off to find a mate. Apply a grub treatment now to eliminate new grubs before they have a chance to hatch. Don’t forget to submit an Architectural Application and wait for written approval before making changes!

Is Your Garage Protected?
Posted on Aug 19th, 2014
Would you believe that a thief can get into your home in less than a minute using only a coat hanger? What if we told you that you can prevent them from getting in in even less time? Recently, a news station in Texas reported on a number of break-ins through homeowner’s garages using a coat hanger to pull the emergency release handle on the garage door. Even if you have a home alarm, chances are that it would not go off if your garage door was opened. The station has posted a video on YouTube showing how the thieves get in and a second video showing how a simple zip tie can be the solution to keeping them out.
